Grand Opening and a Giveaway!

the loverly folks over at Giant Eagle have asked that i give away 8, yes eight, $25 gift cards as a way to help promote the grand opening of a brand new market district at the robinson location!

visit the store during their grand opening celebration, november 6th – 8th, and “get a taste of the many ways food invites, excites and entertains with cooking classes, local chefs, foodie favorites, visiting vendors, cookbook authors and culinary stars.”

some of the foodies you will see:

  • Ted Allen – host of Chopped and Food Detectives on the Food Network AND the food guru on Queer Eye.
  • Chris Fennimore — program director of WQED and host of ‘QED Cooks
  • Christy Rost — television chef, entertaining expert and author of The Family Table: Where Great Food, Friends, and Family Gather Together
  • Carla Snyder & Meredith Deeds — cookbook authors, food writers & culinary instructors
  • The Organic Gardeners, Jessica Walliser & Doug Oster — organic authorities, columnists (Jessica with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and Doug with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) and co-hosts of KDKA Radio’s The Organic Gardeners
  • The Cheese Lady,” artist Sarah Kaufmann, who carves the Pittsburgh skyline from a 1,000 lb. block of mammoth Wisconsin Cheddar

additionally, there will be

  • FREE classes  at our new Hands-On Cooking School!
  • 3,000 free Market District reusable bags
  • A feast of freshly prepared foods and enjoy live music all weekend long!

    I just saw the PG article on this. It’s in my neck of the woods, and I am so excited. I’m debating going this weekend (with the kids), but it looks hard to resist!
